Diablo Cyclists is written by a small group of road cyclists who spend their weekends on club rides, century attempts, and long training loops through hill country. The site grew out of shared notes on routes, pacing, and gear that kept circulating among riding friends until it made sense to put them somewhere public.
Every guide starts with a ride. Before we recommend a route, a nutrition strategy, or a piece of gear, someone on the team has to have covered the distance on it themselves, ideally more than once and in more than one kind of weather. Ride reports are written soon after the ride, while climb gradients, rest-stop locations, and traffic conditions are still fresh.
Coverage decisions follow what club riders actually ask about: how to structure a buildup for a first century, which routes hold up in wind, what to carry on a double-century, and which small equipment choices make long days in the saddle more tolerable. We skip trends that do not hold up to repeated riding, even when they are popular elsewhere.
Diablo Cyclists is a participant in the Amazon Associates program and earns from qualifying purchases made through links on this site. That arrangement never decides what gets covered or how a route or product is described.
